I had the chance to buy a set of HDV-Z96 LED Video Light kits from F&V Professional Lights and thought I'd share a little with you.

I've tried several different Video lights and for the money, power options & durability these lights deliver!

Color Corrected to 5600K and with their easy to snap-on Tungsten color correcting filter, you should be able to get great results with this light!

As someone so KINDLY pointed out that I left most of the important information out of this review... so there's some info that might help.

Shot on a Panasonic AG-HMC150 @ 1/60th of a sec at F3.4

Effective ISO: 500 (no fixed ISO on this camera)

Three Z-96 lights set up 5' from me at 3/4 power (each unit produces 50w at full power)

Specs on the Z-96 Light: http://www.fvlight.com/ViewPro.asp?L1=5&L2=50&L3=206

If you look around the web you should be able to find these light Kits at a pretty good price... I bought mine at coollcd.com.

  • wow you don't have no body!

  • Maybe using one of those lights behind you may have made the review less hilarious. It looks like your head and hands are floating is space...

Joking aside, thanks for the review!!

  • He is a floating head....

  • I bought thi.s light direct from China for about $75 plus shipping. It's great. Don't pay more than $80 bucks for this. Some places charge $200

  • But think about it .... you have the ability to have an ability !

  • For Canon camcorder, all you need is a "mini-hot shoe to standard" adapter, Pearstone CSA-II for a about $19.

  • @thundavolt The light doesn't have the problem. CN-160 has a little.

  • @Shickane z96 comes with a DC slot which should be powered by dc cable.

  • great review, can you run this off of DC Power?

  • thats funny i was thinking the same thing ..

  • I'm not so sure about the claim made about the color correction and more. I looks greenish in this video.
