I've built two versions of a trailer hitch that extends to the end of the tail cone, outside of the wheel/tire and attaches to the bulkhead using load spreaders at four points. The first one did not work well, and the second one is working most excellent, even though the differences are slight. It's a B.O.B trailer skewer combined with a axle-clamp type trailer hitch as well.
