May 16, 2009 Town Hall Meeting Derby, Connecticut Russell Mokhiber and Jerry Kann challenge Dodd and DeParle Single Payer Action at singlepayeraction.org
Yeah, there's no waste and fraud in the government. Are you kidding? At least the private sector can be held accountable. Try that with the government. Look at Dodd's sweet heart deal with Countrywide. Single payer is off the table because it would cause an uprising in this country like you've never seen. The townhall meetings are proof of that. The congress doesn't even want to be on the same plan they are pushing for us. That should tell you something.
Yes, please speak Truth to Power. This past week Senator Bernie Sanders met with Sen. Baucus, he said, "I think we will try to get a hearing in the HELP Committee. I think the importance of the hearing is not that it will change minds but that the American people -- and Congress -- should hear the facts about the enormous waste and bureaucracy and profiteering associated with private health insurance. Not to deal with that is mind-blowing."
