As you already know, Yuna is an summoner. Summoners were being "sacrificed" to defeat Sin..
So Yuna will die, if she defeats Sin, but Tidus and Rikku want her to stop this task. They always thinking about an other chance to end this tricky thing with the monster Sin. Yuna don't want to give up now. So she decides to go on and finish the fight with Sin. Besides.. she fell in love with Tidus, so she don't want to leave him alone.. and Tidus don't want to live without his love.. The only thing he saw what he can do, was to show Yuna how they could stay together, forever! In Heaven.. So they end their lifes together and Rikku is for the rest of her life really sad and lonely, 'cause she lost her best friends and yah her "family" ..
