One final post on this game. The play calling and offensive game plan was awful in this game for OSU, especially deep in Texas territory. Danielson called that QB draw before the snap. Ginn had only 3 touches on offense. Texas secondary were incredible in this game because Ohio State could not throw the ball down the field. One thing I also noticed is that OSU couldn't get pressure unless they blitzed Hawk, Carpenter, or Whitner.

Zwick or Hamby or Huston or Hoobler or anybody else should not be blamed for this loss. Ohio State was out gained by 130 yards and its offense was not good enough in the 1st half of the 2005 season. Troy Smith wasn't the player we all knew and loved until game 7 of this season. Ohio State struggled with San Diego St., Penn St, and Michigan St.

I just copied this game from VHS to DVD yesterday and hadn't watched the game since watching it live on tv. I am still amazed at the vitriol at Zwick for that fumble. Troy Smith should have started this game and should played on that 2nd to last drive. BUT Smith had that one 80 yard TD drive and didn't do much the rest of the game. He almost threw an INT in the 1st half. Smith had drives starting deep in Texas territory after three turnovers and couldn't get it in the endzone.

@qukarlz Does it matter if Texas would have gone at a faster pace? Lol the Ohio State defense pretty much took control of the game in the second half, holding the Texas offense to 25 yards or less in 6 out 8 of their second half drives. It would have been an entirely different ball game and the chances are the Buckeyes would've prevailed at home.

@qukarlz If you put 2 and 2 together they would have won. At the time Hamby dropped the TD pass Ohio State was up 19 to 16. They had to settle for a FG making the score 22 to 16 when a TD would have made it 26 to 16. But then Texas drove the ball down field and scored a TD putting them up 23 to 22. Later Troy Smith was sacked in the end zone for a safety which put Texas up 25 to 22. The point is, all Texas scored was 25 points. Ohio State would've had 26 if they scored a TD in place of a FG.

@qukarlz With all do respect, Zwick is the one who threw the would-be TD to Ryan Hamby. But Hamby dropped the ball in the end zone when he was wide open. Had he caught that Ohio State would have won the game

My pleasure. I would say that I'm sorry that Ohio State lost, but that would be lying seeing as I'm a huge Texas fan :-) But I'm glad you enjoyed the post.
