The Women Air Service Pilots served their country during World War II ferrying aircraft, flight instructors and test pilots. On July 1, 2009 President Obama signed a bill awarding the WASPs with the Congressional Gold Medal which was also awarded in time to Native American soldiers and the Tuskegee Airmen. This award was only made possible by the huge effort by the WASPs and supporters who worked to make sure that these heroes were given the credit they deserved for their service to their country and America's victory in World War II. This story was broadcast on July 4th as part of a patriotic tribute to ALL veterans who served the United States.

  • They make me so proud that I cry when I see them

  • Well, it's over a year later, but let me say that the WASP did not "win" the Congressional Gold Medal, they "earned" it. (A big difference!)

Thanks for sharing this video, however, The WASP are a very inspiring story.
