I was HUGE Prince fan at that time. Years later, on the basis of his supposed influence, I casually picked up Joni's Misses and loved "Passion Play (When All The Slaves Are Free)".
Skip years later, I found Hejira in a used CD bin and realized there was better music than Prince's to some extent. It opened up my musical world beyond what I ever thought possible.
Mind you I still think Prince's Warner Brothers period is stellar, but thru Joni, I realized there was more than Prince.

OK. First of all - it's great to see a "Lovesexy" vinyl here ;)
But, wait! How if this is from 1991, he's giving to Joni a copy of "Lovesexy", an album released back in 1988, and he calls it "Prince's latest album"? Is he crazy? Back in those days, Prince was released an album per year... And how could Joni look at it totally surprised? That album was already 3 years old in 1991 and she didn't look a that cover during 3 whole years! Dear God!
By the way, I love Prince and JM, of course...
I think you are right. It must have been 1988.
