For the most part, I like Chomsky but I think he falls for the liberal propaganda too much (which ironic considering his Manufacturing Consent). Notice how he says "stealing the election" but never actually states how it was stolen. This is due to the fact that it wasn't. Next time you hear somone say "Bush stole the election" - ask how? My guess is you won't get an actual answer. Clue: it was about which districts should recount. Gore said "only liberal districts" Bush said "all districts"

I officially hate America. Hate.

@hugolescargot Exactly. couldnt have said it better.

@arzoyan an anarchist society would be a good thing, because I believe this is our final goal as humanity, the "meaning of life" question is so simple...

pure democracy is a system where the people are the gov. But also have "equality" under law. Which is contradicting since in direct democracies the majority has more power than the minority. As a result, a huge inequality exists.

Yep the us was never a direct democracy (or pure democracy) webhave always been a representative "democracy" or a republic. And really the definition of democracy in representative democracy really only pertained to equality of man under law etc. It did not pertain to the notion that the people are the government who vote on decide all of it's laws by a majority vote.

"The 'responsible' class of men..."
Ha..love how Chomsky is a walking encyclopedia of astonishingly anti-democratic quotes from a very long line of US leaders & statists.
I recall the Gore vs Bush coup (PNAC) and agree re public indifference. Strangely enough, I recall some of the more heated debates were with those who, although openly expressed a lack of concern one way or the other, EAGERLY joined the anti "conspiracy theorists" bandwagon, facts be damned. American priorities, ya know...

In my opinion, democracy is not an issue when a country is neutral and non belligerent. And the real problem with the US is it's the opposite...it needs to be stopped, otherwise it will be the nation to start world war 3.

The monetary serfdom of humanity in a politically manipulated market system of artificial scarcity is the template of our common alienation, exploitation and suffering. Capitalism is historically outdated and a tyrannical imposition for minority private gain. A democratic, conscious, majority movement for a world of cooperation for our common needs and well being expressing our creative energies in a MONEYLESS,CLASSSLESS,STATELESS COMMUNITIES OF HUMNAITY

A moneyless, classless, stateless communities of humanity expressing our freedom in creative harmonious cooperation for a world that is so POTENTIALLY AND ACTUALLY nourishing. Capitalism in any form, Statist or Corporatist is the denial of our common humanity in a politically manipulated, tyrannical armed MARKET SYSYTEM of artificial scarcity that is designed to perpetuate the enslavement of immense humanity for material interest of the criminal ruling elite.
