Old hall (Ordsall house) Retford

The Old hall was built in 1820 and was latterly used as part of Ordsall hall school for amongst other things 6th form studies & music lessons. In the early years it had majestic gardens where the school was built and the Italian gardens to the side near where the first sports centre stood. The Old Hall, Sports centre & School have all gone, but the new sports centre stands in its place! Thats not so bad then!

Lots of good times had in that building, Mr Vernon Barkers' music lessons, Lol, Just goes to show you that history is not that important when the cash is on the table.

Hi, Glad you liked it, albeit a very sad video. The sports center was also demolished at the same time. The Ordsall hall school went too with it a lot of my memories from 1981 -1986. search for, (Ordsall Hall school - Retford)

Wow I cant believe they tore it down to build a leisure center! What happened to the leisure center that was at the side in the 80's?

When you have a corrupt council with people at the top who have been found to conduct someone elses business for there own financial gain, then having parts of an historic town demolished is not supprising. To the so called business man at the top, my lawers are watching.
