Synth-Pad pioneer Bill Bruford with this very nice tune from the second Super Drumming serie. I'll search my CD's for the title because I know the tune for sure or you may come up with it, enjoy for now anyway and comment if you like to.
@drewper73 well, i would have to say without reservation that 'one of a kind' is my favorite bruford outing. i think that is perhaps one of the best fusion albums of all time for a variety of reasons- 'tis allan holdsworth's first soulful playing, jeff kills on the bass, and the synths are organic sounding. bill's beats are impeccable and i love the production. and ya, those three crimson albums would follow suit, very closely. i also dug the first two earthworks albums, too..
@jamesedwardtheobald I'm pretty sure he's healthy and still physically able to play. I think he retired b/c he felt like he had done enough. I disagree with that. Do you have a favorite Bruford moment? Moments? MIne would have to be the drumming on "South Side of the Sky" & "Heart of the Sunrise." Also, just about every song from King Crimson's "Discipline," "Beat," and "Three of a Perfect Pair." I could go on and on.
Bruford always looks so relaxed. Most of the time he's smiling back there. My favorite all-time drummer. Too bad he's retired. He says he'll never play on another record or play live again. That's very rare for a musician to do unless they're physically incapable of playing. He says that he's contributed all that he can to music. I disagree. Too bad Mick Jagger and Keith Richards don't follow suit.
Love the fill at 3:43. Thanks for posting this! I need to go out and get myself some Earthworks material for sure. Bruford is at the top of my list of drummers and always will be.
