Namibia Windhoek City ( Africa) Shopping Mall

Western style shopping mall - very plush and fairly expensive (by Namibia's standards). One thing that surprised me is that Namibian supermarkets have exactly the same formats (shop layout, display etc) as Australian supermarkets. Probably 60% of canned goods, washing powders,. cooking oils, cereals etc are the same brands as those in Australian supermarkets (although they may be processed and packed in South Africa). Clothing shops and electrical shops have the same displays, advertising and selling approach as in Australia. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised by the "sameness" of the supermarkets as a lot supermarket chains are international eg PicnPay has bought a supermarket chain in Australia.. @Aspekitteh. Yes I think you are right. I haven't been to Botswana or Ghana but I think they are good too. Aids is a real problem in many African countries. In Namibia the Government supplies free condoms to everyone to try to prevent the spread of the disease. A former work-mate died of food poisoning (along with fourteen others) after eating hamburgers in the Republic of Congo
