Obviously i didn't read the book, and you know why?, because i hate reading stories, romance, novels, science fiction, etc, i only read science/knowledge books.
I don't care if the book's better, i loved the movie and is my favorite horror film wether you like it or not ;) :D \o/
I heard the budget was around 10 million. Still a lot of dough for a late seventies production. The crew was relatively smal, yes, but everything had to be built from scratch - the hotel was a set, costumes had to be made for a large number of extra's, Nicholson took home a cool million, Kubrick didn't exactly work for free either and the movie rights for King's book were pretty expensive as well.
Me too! Unfortunately this is, unless some other as yet unknown films of him making movies show up, the only such documentary film that we'll ever have, since Kubrick died in 1999.
Shelley's hysterical sound of her voice and her constant crying turned me off of her characted. It was only the times when she wasn't, that I didn't mind her performance.
