Friends Will Be Friends - Bass Line

My version of the bass line of Queen's 1986 hit "Friends Will Be Friends", performed with my new Musicman StingRay 5 bass guitar and my EBS 300 Gorm combo. This video has been recorded using a custom-rendered MIDI file as backing track.

ABOUT THE SONG
"Friends Will Be Friends" was written by Freddie Mercury and John Deacon in 1985 and recorded by Queen for "A Kind of Magic", the eleventh studio album of the band.

Produced by Queen, Reinhold Mack and David Richards, the album was recorded at Musicland Studios, Munich, Germany, Mountain Studios, Montreux, Switzerland and Townhouse Studios, London, England, between november 1985 and april 1986.

"Friends Will Be Friends" was originally released as a 7" vinyl single on June 9, 1986, on the same day that Queen started "Magic Tour", their last tour under its original lineup. The song reached number 14 on the U.K. hit charts.

John Deacon, bassist of Queen, wrote and recorded the bass line of the song.

Great man ! keep it up. I just have one question. I know u figure out bass line by carefull listening. Do you have any tips for that ?

In my particular case, hearing the bass line is something natural. Nonetheless, there is a bunch of ear training exercising that will improve your ability for hearing (or, even "figuring out" when the recording does not allow it") what is the bass stating.
