@CaneFu Moron? Toy? Yeah... Ok asshat... I've been down twice, high sided through a corner back in 93, and smoked a deer doing 60 2 years ago. I wear my gear because it saved my life! If you wanna be the dipshit riding without gear... more power to you. Oh, by the way, the "Super Special Scooter Squad" called, they wanna make you their president. PS... make sure you have that lil box on the back of your license checked. You know, the one that says "Organ Donor".
I'm not the moron riding in full gear in July up the corner store, you are. Obviously a motorcycle is nothing but a toy to you - when it comes to practical transportation in hot weather your manner of dress completely fails. If you're that scared to ride then you should sell your bike and stick to riding in a cage, only have sex with a rubber on, and ask your mom for her approval in advance.
@CaneFu I'm from Chicago, now live in Wisconsin... I don't give a shit if it's 45 degrees... or 95 degrees... Full face helmet, Leather jacket, Gloves, my riding jeans, and my riding boots...ALL THE GEAR... ALL THE TIME... ATGATT!!!!
People are always pushing safety gear but they aren't talking to people in the real world. I live in Illinois where we have no helmet laws whatever & as soon as the weather turns hot NO ONE wears them. I just got back from a Saturday night ride & passed hundreds of motorcyclists & didn't see even 1 helmet. Also no one was wearing leathers either, just t-shirts and jeans. I felt a bit overdressed in a cotton vest and fingerless gloves. Right or wrong, THAT'S REALITY HERE.
@Sirheadly87 they aint saving anyones life they just dont want bikers in there town thats all an guess what if you get a ticket just go to court an it will get thrown out cause in SC there is no helmet law so dont wear you helmets if you dont want to people an the law is going to get changed anyways by thiis year
maybe the riders ARE changing the law. It can be done by more than just talking to a politician. Judges change how laws are allowed to be enforced all the time.
What you personally believe means nothing, if the police are enforcing an unconstitutional law, or enforcing a law in an unconstitutional way.
If you do not like the law then get it changed as they did in Boston
Personally, I think riding a bike with out protective gear is crazy.
Not only does it endanger yourself but the cost of the excessive injuries puts a burden on your hospitals and costs non bikers
When my brother , 20 years my junior, started biking I told him a ten bob ( 75c) helmet is for a ten bob head- even though he now likes in Ca. he wears a $300 helmet
