The commander of US forces in Afghanistan, General Stanley McChrystal, has submitted a long-awaited review of the Afghan war. The New York Times reports although McChrystals assessment doesnt call for sending more US troops, it effectively lays the groundwork for such a request in the coming weeks. The assessment comes on the heels of the deadliest month for US troops in Afghanistan since the US invasion nearly eight years ago. We speak with independent journalist Nir Rosen, who recently returned from Afghanistan, where he embedded with US troops in Helmand Province. [includes rush transcript]
CNN reporter Laura Logan was raped in Egypt- This jerked joked about it on Tweeter.
Making fun of a woman who's been raped is as low as you can get. Nir Rosen is one big asshole..

This misses the entire point of the interview; all criticism of a foreign war/occupation isn't tantamount to 'let's cut and run' (this is the sound byte, yes?)

If something is consistently not going well and there is no end in sight, I would say that is a pretty damn good reason for quitting.

Based on what? This report? Do you remember why we were there in the first place? What is your plan for a withdrawing?
Just because something isn't going well doesn't mean one should quit.
