wine works with new games just that in some cases you will need to download some .dll files, i am currently playing WOW Cataclysm and it works fine and i don't have high-end HW

It is better to add arguments to wine in quotes "" because you may have spaces in the file/document names...

Of course it works in Mandriva. You may install it in different way (I'm not a mandriva user). However, wine and other software is usually distribution independent.

once its installed correctly, all you need to do to install an exe file is right click on the actual exe file and choose first option run under wine (emulator) loader. it will for the most part start the installation process just like in windows.
