Chuck Hogan '89 explains how he conducts research for his best-selling novels, including Prince of Thieves, for which he spent time in Boston's toughest neighborhoods and studied the inner workings of armored cars. Prince of Thieves was adapted into the 2010 film The Town, directed by and starring Ben Affleck.

This excerpt was edited from a panel discussion that took place on April 29, 2011, as part of the University's Arts Festival, where Hogan received the Boston College 2011 Arts Council Alumni Award for artistic achievement.

View the entire video presentation with Hogan, Carlo Rotella, and Christopher Wilson, both professors of English at Boston College, as they discuss Prince of Thieves and American crime movies: http://frontrow.bc.edu/program/hogan/.
