This video shows the opening parts of Robot City. Highlights include a quick briefing from DARLA, the on-board ship computer, and the first encounters with robots in a human apartment building. The information from DARLA is especially important: Asimov's Three Laws basically underlie the entire game.

Sorry I skipped on the relaxing music, food, and entertainment, but there's a whole game ahead to record!

Robot City is a 1995 adventure game by Byron Preiss Multimedia and Brooklyn Multimedia. Stranded on a distant and self-sufficient robot-run planet, an amnesiac identified as "Derec" must prove his innocence in murder mystery that invokes Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics. With help from Alpha, a robotic sidekick capable of deductive reasoning, the players must assemble clues, gather evidence, and use Asimov's laws to manipulate the city's positronic inhabitants. Limited exploration windows provide brief chances to explore new parts of the planet through mine shafts and a massive subway system.

  • Oh man this used to be one of my favorite games.. i used to find it almost scary walking down the dark, lonely streets of robot city.

  • @kugotsumin Likewise! Until you realize that there isn't much threat in walking around, it's pretty genuinely scary.
