The Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted FFA chapter gave a beautiful demonstration of parliamentary procedure during a recent school board meeting. Videotape was taken by Herald Journal reporter Jennifer Gallus.

  • @aeroaero2010 You've got 8 minutes, and they give you a motion to pass. It's not up to them.

  • THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!! THE MOTION WAS UNINTELLIGENT AS WELL AS THE DEBATES AND IT WAS TOO FAST, YOU HAVE 10 MINUTES!!!

  • As a former member of a Texas State champion team and National winning team too, I also suggest slowing the dialog down a bit. It is a little difficult to follow and you have plenty of time to get the problem worked. This "feels" like a competition and lacks the pace and drama of the "real" meeting. I would love to read the problem and watch you again. Every National level team can work a tricky problem correctly, but to win, it must be entertaining and convincing as an actual situation.

  • 2:22 Point of order . . . I call for a re-vote using a more proper method of casting ballots because it seems to me that there was about an even vote. Thank you madam chairman. XD Great job there folks!

  • ya, i'm on the texas state champion team. i run the chair. i would slow down.

  • hey guys, just a couple tips if you take this seriously....slow down number one. you are going to kill your secratary in a competition. and when you make amendment, make them so you have something to talk about and not sounds..unintelligent to judgees. and NEVER sit down before a chair tells you too. as soon as you sit, you reliquish the right to the floor and the chair no longer has to call on your guys, good luck and have funn

  • well I have no idea what your Parli Pro is like in minnesota but from what ive seen for one theres to many debaters two it seemed to kind of be allover the place that may be just how im seeing it, and finally there are certain things the chairmen was doing that personally would never happen on my team , but over all the individual debates were really good and the team worked well togeather.

  • I thought it is stated in the Robert's Rule of Orders that it the assembly is NOT allowed to perform any UNnecessary movements and that there should only be one member of the assembly to stand up when speaking..

  • This is really very well done! Thanks so much for sharing!

  • Great!
