Tutorial 3 of 4 in this beginner's series, explaining the basic use of Blender 3d to created 'Sculpted Prims' for Second Life.

This tutorial walks you through some simple Edit Mode commands, as well as the basics of Blender's Modifiers, and continues with some simple Edit Mode mesh manipulation, and baking of a Second Life sculpt map, using Domino Marama's scripts.

  • o.o I did everything right in the tutorial for installing blender and the scripts, but it gives me the error: 'No module named import_sculptie'?

  • Make sure you have 7 scripts in your script folder (Probably two text files as well), including the import_sculptie script. If you're missing that, or any of the others, make sure you've extracted them all from the download. If you don't have all 7 in that downloaded file, redownload and try again.

  • and what are you talking about during 2:35 to 2:54 !!!! I'm so confused lol

  • Tab into edit mode, meaning literally press the TAB key to enter Edit Mode. Then, press the button I'm shown as pressing, to switch to Edge select mode, rather than Vertex (A vertex is a point). Then, press the A key to deselect everything that is selected, which is by default every section of the mesh.

  • okay I'm having big troubles with blender. You know during 'space', 'add', 'mesh', and 'sculpt mesh'. I couldnt find sculpt mesh... please reply!!!! Thank you, it'll help alot!!!

  • Watch my 'Installing Blender and Scripts' tutorial, it explains installing Blender and the SL Sculpt scripts by Domino Marama. You haven't properly installed them, or else you would get that option.

If you've downloaded and unpacked the files, you still need to tell Blender where to find them. As I said, watch my Installing Blender tutorial.

  • Select Multires to get the same kind of shape he has when you make the mesh with the newer scripts guys. + thumbs up if this helped you (so it can help others). Don't select simple, as someone else said, stay with catmull or you'll get really weird lumps on your sphere. Otherwise a very good tut!!
