Even though the tuba part is rather simple, it is still complex in the "style" it is written: anyone can play a B-flat, but its the style/dynamic of the piece you have to -feel-, that is the hard thing about it, but once you feel the excitement of the piece and dramatic expression, you can play the hell out of it, and really get a nice, solid bass sound.

@HerrFoobert I know that's what I'm saying, and I'm a high school saxophone player. We played this for a Honors Band this past weekend, I sight read it perfectly. Nbd.

High school saxophonists... High school saxophonists everywhere...
If you think this is challenging, or if you can't sightread it, you wouldn't last five minutes as a professional.

Love this piece soooo much! Its so energetic and moving

God, im a tenor sax, playing it now.. Shits insane.

Tenor and Bari sax on this requires pinkies of steel. So many notes below the staff, but the parts not as hard as it looks. It's lots of repetition.
