  • Oh one more question XD I was wondering if it's possible to change the opacity of these painted on layers?

  • No problem. Unfortunately not in Zbrush. Basically, it's all one layer. Only the brush you are using can have a different opacity when you paint. But don't be discouraged because A) You have Zapplink which means you can use Photoshop B) You can mask parts of the model to a certain percentage and paint over that EG mask 100% then un/mask parts of the models you want at a different opacity.

3Dcoat allows opacity for layers, I believe, but I haven't tried it yet.

  • How do you erase when polypainting? I hold down alt but it just seems to paint as normal

  • You don't really erase as such, you just paint over using a different colour. 3d coat allows you to erase and gives you layers but it's different with Zbrush. It's probably best to undo even if you are using Projection Master. Sorry, that's the best that I can give you.

  • Thanks for the reply, I only use this for painting bony landmarks and muscles onto character models, I'd probably use something else if I were to paint a texture like this anyways

  • Hey, no problem. I like Zbrush but I don't use it most of the time. I mix and match when it comes to digital art. I used to use 3d Coat purely for retopologising but I found that it has some powerful painting tools in it as well. Even then I still use other programs like Photoshop and Illustrator to texture. Basically, you find what works best for you and don't get stuck in one program.

  • Yeah, I know. I had to use free music and that's the best I could find. I just forgot to add all the moaning and groaning in the background.
