@HENRYHOBBS1 yes i agree. Mercer was a very unrated fighter who competed here and in my opinion won the lennox lewis fight but i might be subjective so in the words of Geogre Foreman who was broadcasting the Lewis Mercer fight "it was a draw".

There was no controversy here cause of the knock down but mercer got hosed in the lennox lewis fight i had mercer winning by a round but even Geogre Foreman said it should have at least been a drawer during the broadcast

it is surely clear that Holyfield was in danger of having the fight stopped. Time and time again he was down but not out. The intensity he showed after the doctor said he could continue was just amazing. He dropped mercer for a 10-8 round the took both 9 and 10 to clearly win this fight. Lewis never hurt mercer so there was no clear cut winner. in fact i had mercer winning the first three round and coming out a point ahead. should of been a rematch but the cowardly lion onlydid that when he lost

i think the most telling thing that showed if the fight continued klitscho would have won was Lampley's observation of how tired Lewis was and that he was barely staying on his feet at the end of the sixth round. i have seldom seen a fighter as fatigued as Lewis was and for him to say that he would have won if the fight continued is just not valid. I am not sure Lewis could have lasted another round. it is right there on tape how he was stumbling about. Lewis should have given vitali anothershot

i am watching klitscho lewis over and over and i noticed something else that i think contributed to the cut. After Klitscho really started hurting Lewis in the second i noticed that Lewis when he was holding on was not only holding on but pulling klitschol to him and cause of their similar sizes they were clashing heads I know Lewis and his people if there would of been video of Klitscho without a cut then a punch then the bleeding they would have been showing it in super slow motion over again

one reason i cant stand Lennox Lewis is that when there was controversy like his knockouts at the hands of the bum brothers Oliver McCall and Hasim Rahman of course alibi lewis got a rematch but when there was controversy that did go his way like the mercer and klitscho fights the chickenshit chinless wonder didnt make a point of fighting them again., no chin no heart that will be his lasting legacy and i hope lewis fans are old cause his reputation will not stand the scrutiny of time

Before the mercer lewis fight the announcer said that alot of people dont like lewis and dont buy his act. Listen to the Larry Merchant interview with him at the end of the Klischo fight and you get a feel of why that is. He didnt want to talk about the six rounds that were a reality but the future phantom rounds where a fighter that Jim Lampley said could barely stay on his feet at the end of the sixth round cause he was so tired was going to somehow knock klitscho out. Talk about denial.
