It is September 13th 1950,inside a packed Olympia Stadium,in Detroit Michigan. In this corner we have Jake LaMotta, nickname;"The Bronx Bull",later to become known as;"The Raging Bull", And in this corner we have Laurent Dauthille. Jake LaMotta will be defending his title;"Middleweight Champion of the World"

Grab a ringside seat, and observe as each stroke of Jason's brush,re-unites them on canvas.

Laurent Dauthille is KO'd by a flurry of hard and furious punches, delivered by Jake LaMotta, in the last few seconds of the 15th round. The Grande Finale of this match,is herald in the annuals of boxing history as'"One of the greatest come-from-behind victories of all times."

This portrait is available as a Limited Edition Canvas Giclee.

Visit Jason's website to find out more about the artist, and view more of his fine works of art, and available prints.

  • There's nothing better than watching two blokes belt the living crap out of each other- especially to the strains of a song like this. Say, have you thought of running these videos on a loop at one of Jason's exhibitions? They're as much a work of art as the paintings themselves!

  • Thank you all once again for checking out the latest work. Shanon seems to be like a fine wine ,I'm not going to even mention age but the videos seem to get better each time. I look forward to some upcoming sport scenes and next weeks show seems to be shaping up to be a big one.

    Cheers

  • Beautiful piece of art Shanon thanks for sharing! ~rajesh

  • Um, I have to admit... not a big boxing fan here... I guess I'm too sensitive and the violence makes me cringe. But I've been to live matches and Jason's expressive style really brings the image viscerally alive, like being ringside. Your music is lovely and brings a wonderful energy as the painting unfolds. Terrific work!

Btw... chiming in here... Dave's suggestion below (running your vids in loop at Jason's exhibitions) is excellent!

  • So realistic I could smell the sweat and hear the crowd! Just awesome work and Congrats Jason on your exhibition!!!!

  • This is another fantastic piece from Jason, I like the way he has detailed the muscle tone of the boxers, just brilliant and so precise...Especially love the picture at 4:28...lol..great to see a shot of Jason in each of his videos...Great video as always Shanon, you bring Jasons work and the Billabong studio to life for us all to enjoy, looking forward to the next one in this wonderful sports series...Good luck with the exhibit in November Jason!..

  • Jason your work never ceases to amaze me. This is outstanding! Shanon the information you provided is great reading.I loved sitting ringside, watching this come to life. I also hope there will be more coming soon.Would love to go to one of your exhibits someday Jason. I haven't heard the music before, but it is a perfect companion with this.

  • Wow! This is awesome! I love the progression of the paintings of each of the fighters, before the full scene.
