I was apart of the graduating class of 2005. We held Shattered Dreams as well, but I really like how the class of 2009 took it to the next level by presenting it in a prom night scenario and making it ever more graphic in nature. You guys have really have done well. Much kudos to Student Council, organizers of Shattered Dreams, actors, parents, police personnel, fire personnel, medical personnel and all participants involved in making this happen.
I've been involved in mock crashes from a rescuer standpoint, but never watched one. They didn't do them for us in school, but we really hit it on the shock and awe. They told the kids to make it sound real, it was our job to make it look real. Wow. My patient was a screamer, holy hell. Sounded real. But I must say, this is one of the best I've seen. Good job.
We do Shattered Lives at our school, and instead of having actors they select kids to act in it and if you die you have to spend like 3 hours in a hospital then they take you to a hotel, and the next day they hold a ":funeral" at your school. And I mean they go the whole nine yards with the police and ambulences and stuff. I get to be in the act next year. also the "drunk driver" has to spend the night in jail. It is pretty intense
Hey, Great video. I'm a paramedic here in Maryland whth the Marylans State Police. I've been flying on Trooper 1 for ten years.. We always look forward to prom time we respound to all of the MOCK CRASHES in Cecil Co MD.. I have to say to everyone the mock crashs set up by the schools and local Firedepartments are great.I think they should also show videos or slides of real crashes.. It is a weekly accurance here in Maryland to have teens killed in fatal accidents.. So from MSP Syscom thank you..
