  • I long suspected that Al-shabaab was created for the destruction of Somalia, they use religion as cover of their evil, brutal and terror acts against the Somali population. ....those foreigners them Arab imitating (wannabes) unknowingly Zionist supporting Al-shabaab. They don't represent the vast Somali citizen. Al-shabaab is wolf under a sheep's wool, in no way does Islam allow what Al-shabaab does.... total contradictory.

The US should have never paid the Ethiopian government $500 million to go into Somalia under the Bush Administration. As Obama became president, the Ethiopian troops were removed from Somalia. One reason for this was because Obama was not going to pay the Zenawi government to have troops in Somalia.

Al Shabaab is not good for Somalia. Why? Because there are foreigners who are at the top of that leadership. One of them is even an American "Jew".

  • @Mogadishian

Yes, innocent people have been killed by some members of al Shabaab. Some of what Americans and British say are lies. It is important to know what is true and what is not true.

As you know, a little more than half of Ethiopians are Muslims. The biggest problem in Somalia is Muslims attacking Muslims. Long before AU troops were in Somalia, it was Somalis killing each other. Aweys was a military leader in Barre's government but he and others rebelled against that government.

  • @Mogadishian

Sheikh Ahmed has always been seen by the US as more "moderate" than others. However, the US did brand Sheik Aweys as a "terrorist". Sheikh Ahmed was never really tied to al Qaeda. Sheikh Ahmed was held in Kenya after al Shabaab was routed in the desert as they went against Ethiopian troops and US air support. Sheikh Ahmed chose to flee into Kenya, and Sheikh Aweys went to Eritrea. Somalia will not be under Ethiopian rule and that is not the US's goal.

  • @Mogadishian

It is not true that "every single Somali person knows what is written on the flag". In fact, most Somalis do not know what is written on the flag.

The division first started with Somalis themselves because some desired power and to gain that power meant they would have to overthrow the government. It is true that the Western nations have conspired in Somalia and throughout Africa but we must not ignore what we do to ourselves.

Do you know what words on the flag mean? What about the average Somali, does he or she know the meaning of the words?

Who and how should it be determine what sort of state Somalia will be?

The Europeans brought some good things as well as some very bad things to Somalia and Africa as a whole. Is it wise to reject all because it is "European"?

  • @Mogadishian

It has been proven that some of the leadership in al Shabaab is not Somali. Don't be deceived by religion. All who do the will of Creator are brothers, whether they be Muslim, Christian or other. It is not the will of Allah to shed the blood of the innocent. Somalia, under al Shabaab, who will be your leaders and how will those leaders be determined or chosen?

  • @Mogadishian

Thank you for your comment. Why does America want to "invade and kill Somali people"?

  • @Mogadishian

Somalis are a progressive people, not backwards as the voices within al Shabab would like. If al Shabab leadership was really Somali, would we not see the Somali flag instead of the black flag written in Arabic script?

Where the TFG continues to error at is not pushing for public elections so the Somali people can decide who they want to lead them. You are correct about the use of al Qaeda by US as an excuse. However, al Shabab leadership says they have joined al Qaeda.

  • @red44ever

It's called geopolitics. The US desire to have a large permanent military base on the continent of Africa and Somalia is the most desired location, even though the US has not stated that Somalia is the desired location. Most of the shipping that comes from the East must come through the Gulf of Aden, off the coast of Somalia.
