A committee of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives considers the video game violence issue on March 6, 2009. In this clip, one rep suggests a 5% tax on violent games to fund a parental education program. Another suggests that no financial incentives be granted for production of violent games. The reps also struggle with a line in a state report that mentions that violent video games can have some positive effects.

  • I love how they're trying to legally attack violent video games, an art form which is covered in the first amendment.

Games are not the root of violance, when GTA came out the crime rate actually DROPPED sharply. This is insulting that a nation that preaches freedom is trying to censor something.

  • Your got it spot on.

Everyone would like to blame something/someone for there problems. They should just suck it up and fix it themselves.

Oh and also, your breaking the first amendment, which is like REALLY important.

  • Watch these assholes tread the water to find a foothold to exploit successful gaming industry revenue

  • GOD DAMN faggot ass politicians looking to put their grubby, greedy hands on a profitable industry and try to justify it with their illogical logic.

  • There the same people to drag this country to ruin's. Why not raise the hell out of there Tax's? There truly are the ones bringing down the country.

  • This makes me ashamed to be from PA.

  • This is a fine example of the problem in today's society. We constantly look for something to blame for the ever increasing problems of our children, so that we don't have to face the real problem of a complete lack of parenting skills. I spent my childhood playing Mortal Kombat, Splatterhouse, and I even owned the original GTA when it was first released, and I haven't so much as been in a fight since seventh grade (and that was a loooooooong time ago). Stop scapegoating, and start parenting.

  • Bored stupid jackasses with nothing to do and this camera guy\woman needs a freaken camera stand! Or lay off the redbull.

    FU PA! FU!

  • What is this I don't even...

  • Get a life PA legislator, So you know I'd rather have them be in the legislator before you!
