Good to see young people interested in science! Very creative and dilagent. Fortunately, you will go much further in life then those that think is is easier to spend Mom and Dads money to BUY one. Also keep in mind that NERDS are the HOTTIES of the future ..... 10 years from now we will see who is flexing the success! Keep up the good work. I need to find a safer method for my nerd 6 year old, grins.

my lava lamp broke, but I've still got the wax, do I only need some distilled water to make a new one ???
ItchyTheKitty 2 months ago
@ItchyTheKitty not just distilled water, but some salt as well. if it were pure distilled water, the wax would always float the the top when heated. the salt lowers the density.

do we have to use a specific type of wax to make this? what's the name of the wax we can use for this?
violinist881 3 months ago
@violinist881 the wax is not special at all. we smashed open one of those worship candles that they sell, (the long tall clear glass ones). those candles come per dyed/colored.

can you dye the water? or will that ruin the solution?

@FTGAITSBTD you should be able to dye it without a problem. just keep in mind that what is really important is the density
