KEN LUDWIG'S
A FOX ON THE FAIRWAY
A New Comedy by Ken Ludwig
Directed by John Rando
Starring Jeff McCarthy, Holly Twyford and Andrew Long
A tribute from Ken Ludwig (Lend Me A Tenor, Crazy for You) to the great English farces of the 1930s and 1940s, A Fox On the Fairway takes Signature audiences on a hilarious romp which pulls the rug out from underneath the stuffy denizens of a private country club. Filled with mistaken identities, slamming doors, and over-the-top romantic shenanigans, it's a furiously paced comedy that recalls the Marx Brothers' classics.
You won't want to miss this charmingly madcap adventure -- directed by Tony Award®-winner John Rando (Urinetown) -- about love, life, and man's eternal love affair with... golf.
Starring Jeff McCarthy (Broadway's Urinetown & Side Show), Holly Twyford (Signature's Little Dog Laughed), Andrew Long (Signature's I Am My Own Wife), Valerie Leonard, Aubrey Deeker, and Meg Steedle
"Ken Ludwig is one of those rare contemporary playwrights who thinks in terms of old-fashioned knockabout farce, and that's something to be cherished." -- The New York Times
October 12 -- November 14, 2010
I saw it on Sunday and laughed my head off. The play is so, so cleverly done - kudos to Ken Ludwig!!!!! You care about the characters from the very first moment they appear on stage to the very end. The actors are absolutely wonderful and McCarthy has proven once again that he is brilliant in a comedy role. He has great comedic timing balancing between self-importance and ridiculous. A+
