I am 28 years old, and have been suffering from Alopecia for about 12 years now. I noticed it my soph. year of H.S. when I started losing my eye lashes. My case is a little different, in that I've lost all my hair everywhere once...then most of it came back for about 5 years. And now it has been gone for about 3 years again now. I try not to stress about it,but it's a vicious circle, how do you not stress about something when it's taking control of your body. Being 6'7 I stick out with it lol

Hi I just found the Dr. Shmuel Gonen website. I got the questionnaire. What's the status with this idea? Have you tried this treatment. My insurance company is giving me hell to pay for the corticosteroid injections. They keep telling me they don't cover the treatment because is cosmetic. I have to have the doctor send then his medical notes every time :-(
@Beatrice hey I took your advice and went to the derm. To see if they will give me the shots again since the last time i got them was almost ten years ago. Also when I got them last the shots were so strong that they made like rivets or like lessions in my scalp. So she only did them in one spot and is having me come back in three weeks just to make sure that they don't dent in or I don't have any negative reactions to them. When I go back she said she will do the whole head.

I understand your anguish. I have it. however, 95% of alopecia cases grows back.. I know around 25 people who have had it and it resolved itself on its own. It's a very common disorder. Please try not to worry, coz this will aggrevate it.. your chances of recovery are good. its hard to advice you only that it will probably resolve itself as long as you relax. try cortisone cream, injestions and tablets together to zap the autoimmunity. also meditate. close your mind from the worry. xx

@martinleejones Love the positivity. Wish my derms would tell me that too. All they say is that there is no cure and that it will probably get worse. I try to relax... but I will try harder! (funny huh) thanks for the comment. I appreciate it tons.
