Putting things off ... It's what we humans do. Thankfully, President Obama has stopped putting things off when it comes to global warming. He's insisting on tough new fuel efficiency standards, and that means our children will enjoy a cleaner environment.

The new standards mean more of us will be driving smaller, fuel-efficient cars. And since smaller, lighter cars—even when they are extremely well-designed for safety—mean more of us will have to plan for our final day sooner than we anticipated, we urge you to follow the president's lead and think ahead.

Don't put off planning for your final day. We're the Morticians Association of America, and we salute President Obama.

Written and produced by Ted Balaker with Paul Detrick. Narrated by Rin Palmer.

  • Does anybody even know how an electric motor functions along with a Transmission? Think about it. How does Two axles, one Gasoline Transmission and the Other Elec. Motor, work together efficiently??

  • Normally, I like Reasons videos but this is just stupid. Those lightweight cars are made out of compressed carbon fiber, its 1/3 the weight of regular steel and twice as strong. Also, even china has a higher fuel efficiency standard than the US, so we cant even sell our cars there. Fuel efficiency is really about efficiency in design Those fuel efficient cars will be the future with or without the regulations. Theyre essentially a minimum wage set below equilibrium, no reason for scare tactics

  • hmm, I agree; especially since CAFE standards make it harder to maintain HTSA standards and vice versa. Personally, I think the choice between safety or fuel economy should lay with the consumer.

  • What about commercial trucks, busses, and say cars designed to hold more than two people.

  • Sarah Palin looks hot in leather skirt. Google 'Sarah Palin in leather skirt".

  • I would think the more smart cars on the road would lower the risk of bodily harm for smart car accidents.

So the more smart cars on the road the safer they become.

  • smart car is safer than a h2

  • of all the ways you can attack C.A.F.E. standard this is the least effective.

you could have pointed out that cafe standards dont reduce oil use.

instead you point of the one piece that has been shown in peer reviewed papers to be false. Car to car accidents are not a problem. Car to semi trucks are. and car to object accidents comprise so little of accident reports that that they are not worth arguing over

    i expect better reasontv
