I'm trying to make a video to the Dan Deacon song "Wham City." Its a 12 minute master piece and this video constitutes the last 80 seconds. There are about 14 different videos playing on top of each at various points.
Not that I particularly like this video, but considering the degree to which reappropriation is present in so much "Wham City" art, what you said looks really stupid, cloistered and cagey.
Do you mean like how Jimmy reused old material for the Crsytal Cat video?
And on the subject of intentional, what about Dan Deacon's Jimmy Joe Roche where he played on loop pedals, using his human imperfect ability to play slightly off beat, and layer them to see what happens when they are panned and balanced? Isn't that working with the unintentional to make something beautiful?
This is nice, BUT, you just took a bunch of stuff you already had and layered it on top of itself, if you love the song so much, wheres the effort? an artist is supposed to make some kinds of clear decisions, ya know? I respect your enthusiasm, but theres no reason for ANYONE to think that this video has anything to do with the song. Sorry to be negative, but i care about what gets out there with my friends and their art. comparing this to Jimmy's work is way off base. I had to say this.
Lol. Holy Shiit. xD that is insaaane...

I'm really liking it. Maybe more clips of Dan and people dancing at his shows in there? No Dan Deacon video is complete without obese man dancing.

Reusing old creations to make new ones does not stop them from still being art. who are you to say there was no effort involved in the editing?

You're technique is kinda paralle to what Roche uses in the Ultimate Reality, way to make do with what you have! Bricolague man, thats the way to go.
