Rome (CNN) -- The 3,200 passengers on board the Costa Concordia cruise liner were expecting a night of entertainment and relaxation off Italy's Mediterranean coast.
Instead, at about dinner time, the lights suddenly went out, the ship tilted to one side and an ominous scraping sound was heard.
The 1,500-cabin luxury vessel, also carrying about 1,000 crew, had run aground on a sand bar off the tiny island of Giglio.

  • @kunjidee I'm an italian girl and I'm very angry like you for what has happened, like every italian. The captain Schettino is first of all, a contemptible man and than, an Italian. you're wrong to think that every italian person is like him and for this i'm so sorry because it's not the truth

  • @Redharry48 Do you think, you Americans do not come here News 11? There was a conspiracy, yet you also know no one is allowed to judge the entire nazione.Schettino no different from your former president. stop it to define the Italians as if they were all Schettino. There are families who still seek the truth about the bombings, then the shame belongs as much to you. We have a culprit, and we know it, you know that there was a conspiracy and silent, silence and cowards you are

  • @DdioCherrobe hai perfettamente ragione, ma gli americani si rifanno ancora alla seconda guerra mondiale per insultarci.

  • thumbs down because i don't like the uploader's name.

    "MegaAdsTV" ?

    asshole.

  • @Mortskcab

I would respectfully suggest Vietnam and more recently Iraq and Afghanistan ....wars..

were ahead of this fuck up.....as regards being caught on tape.....

  • @Mazunteful Doesn't matter. WW2 negates all that.

  • @Mazunteful Now, you just did what they are all doing. Lumping ALL americans into one shitty put down. I'm American, and I'm pretty damned certain not many Italians would have done what this captain did.

  • Why be angry for the captain? He did what every italian would do. Nothing to see here, move along.

  • @bastymanguy Indeed, about €120.000/passenger. Right again when you say the captain is the last to abandon ship. However, and let's suppose he was coordinating the impossible (crew had no prep at all, captain alone and in the dark), how could he ever know how many men, women and children were still on board (as Commander Di Falco ordered) ??? Difficult task, wouldn't you say? Of course his greatest mistake was leaving the ship, no doubt... and he's going to pay for that.

  • @TheBasinda The water would have been cold, and some don't know how to swim.
