It has been a long time coming, but the story of the legendary Tuskegee Airmen during World War II is finally being told in a major, Hollywood motion picture, on the big screen. Roland Martin had a chance to talk with two of the stars of "Red Tails," Academy Award winner Cuba Gooding, Jr., and Academy Award nominee Terrence Howard, about what it meant to be a part of this production. Take a look.
William Graham Claytor became commander of the destroyer escort USS Cecil J. Doyle on patrol in the Pacific Ocean. In August of 1945, Claytor sped without orders to investigate reports of men floating in the water. As the Doyle approached the area at night, Claytor turned the ship's searchlights on the water and straight up on low clouds, lighting up the night, despite the risk of exposing his ship to possible attack by Japanese submarines. he saved over 900 of sunken cruiser USS Indianapolis.

Watching Terrence and Cuba speaking in this video highly about something as important as the "Tuskegee Airmen" is a beautiful thing. These Airmen are honorable & all ways will be 4 their great heroic efforts. I luv both of these men & what they both potray on & off film. Terrence has always been such a great inspiration 2 me no matter what. I have always had a sort spiritual connection to him in a gud way. For a long while now I have dreamed 4 a response frm Terrence. I pray it wil come true.
