i realy dont think his alternative chord sequence works and he should have left this alone :/ oasis can simply not be compared to the smiths. i know that they obviously can literaly be compared but the smiths are on such a higher plane of musical quality its ridiculous to even try to compare the two in a credible way. if that makes sense

Noel Gallagher will NEVER be the "new Paul Weller". Weller is a far superior song writer, he's a better talent on the guitar and Noel Gallagher has lost his way in the rock and indie scene. He should consider what Liam did - live on faded memories (and leave the classics alone).

I think in the grand scheme of things The smiths will outlive Oasis.

i said johnny marr is the better guitarist. but noel is the better songwriter..
and the songs that noel was putting out there make him bigger than johnny marr..

i said i like the smiths but they were never as big as oasis..

whats more, in response to an earlier comment, the smiths weren't a legendary band, they more more of a cult band, which i suppose is why they appealed to so many people.

To be fair on noel its very difficult to emulate the god: Morriseys' voice, so please don't try again, ever.
