Attention Deficit Disorder: Life at a Different Pace is the story of one man's search for meaning after being diagnosed with a neurological disorder at the age of twenty-nine. Commonly known as a children's disorder, ADD is seen in a new light as Steve McAllister (author of The Rucksack Letters) interviews a bevy of mental health care professionals in an exhaustive exploration of one of the most prevalent mental disorders of our time. Using the diagnosis as a springboard to understanding, Steve seeks out the strengths of ADD to forge a path of hope for a generation of children and adults who have been affected by this disorder.

  • Vegheadsrock, I don't think that the neurotransmitters are doing anything differently, they are just firing at a different frequency and pace, just as the people themselves are.

  • disorder is a misslabel! add is great

  • What are the neuotransmitters doing in hyper active adders that is is not doing in the often lazy inattentive type? I would love to hear from anyone that can answer this question.

  • My 16 yrs old friend Anna has Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome/ADD

  • No. I made one joke, initially. Then I was criticizing your foul, childish language. Read it again. I am very well aware of what Big Pharma is doing and do not agree with it.

  • Where in my posts did you read my defending Psychiatry anyway? From my asking if you are Tom Cruise? Puhleese. Do you know what a joke is? Why so sour?

  • Pal, you don't know me to state that I am FOR meds, obviously. But you are too foul-mouthed for me to waste any more time typing back and forth with you. Your method of defending a point is too aggressive + obnoxious; no one wants to even hear you. Zero credit for you.

  • Ha, the old lack of intelligent argumentation. Typical youtube viewer.

Not me. Good luck. I doubt it's getting any real action anyway. ;) :P :D

  • Tom Cruise, is that you?

  • Yeah, I mean, It's probably billion year old ghosts from outer space that are confusing people. Clear the planet, dude!
