great band...sadly, this is too similar to the story of many amazing musicians..they write truly beautiful songs and work their asses off recording, promoting, and relentlessly touring with their bands and never gain the recognition they deserve...meanwhile, i can't even turn on the radio without being fed the latest manufactured los angeles flavor of the month crap by a loudmouth corporate meat puppet DJ.

There was a Malkmus & the Jicks show at which Malkmus decided to do nothing but Pavement songs. Near the end he said, "I'm gonna call up some friends of mine, the guys from Silkworm."
One guy cheered enthusiastically into the ensuing silence. That guy was me.
And when they picked up the Jicks' instruments and kicked in, Malkmus's eyes widened and he took a step back...because the sound was so much louder and harder. It was beautiful.

Fuck, I love Silkworm.

Where can I get my hands on a copy of this?!?!?

Silkworm is the best thing to ever come out of Montana. Also, it is the only thing I've ever known to come out of Montana. But I bet if I knew anything else from Montana it wouldn't touch Silkworm anyway.

Is this ever going to come out. I gave money to this project twice and have been anxiously awaiting its release. This is either the he 'ishtar' of indie rocumentary's or just a flat scam. Video editing is, no doubt, a grind, but three years from starting the editing stage and there's nothing to show?
This band deserves much better.
The music and story of this band is epic and it deserves more than some film-school's 'goat' student who spends more time on paypal than creating footage.

I'll buy a copy of this the day it comes out.

I wish I would have been there for that one. Silkworm was my favorite band for a number of years. I was bummed when Joel Phelps left the band. Needless to say devastated when I caught wind of Michael's tragic death. I saw Silkworm play an amazing show at The Satiricon in Portland Or in the late 90's. It was Michael's birthday. In the middle of the set Michael's parents brought out a birthday cake for him. He blew our the candles, hugged his parents and went back to rocking.

That's "His Mark Replies." It's kind of the second half of a song called "The Operative." Both on It'll Be Cool. Michael is playing guitar instead of drums on this one.
