Looks like they did a U-turn since I wrote that comment. It's gone back to being unwatchable. What happened...? They don't even say "News at Ten" any more, it's plain old "ITV News" now.

@halogen123 At the time there was no ITV2 as is now, but essentially Channel 4 were the ITV2 of the time

@cwilliams1976 The difference being though that those are both owned by the BBC, and ITV and Channel 4 are two completely different channels. It's like ITV1 promoting ITV2.

@halogen123 This is what's called cross-promotion, a bit like BBC1 cross-promoting programmes on BBC2 so as to give people choice

I loved St Elsewhere!!!!! and I loved the News at ten! I guess I just loved the 80s, and watching this gives me a tear in my eyes......Alistair Burnett! i wonder what he's doing now, or if he is still alive even!!!!!

Pretty amazing graphics for 1988 and a massive step forward from their previous titles.

They are thankfully improving - and not before time - but there's still a long way to go before they get back to where they used to be.
