Its great if your big on geocaching, but its not so great if its just another activity you sometimes participate in due to its high price tag. Basically what you get is a compass, geocache search and GPS* directions to the cache.
*GPS only on iPhone 3G/3GS/iPad 3G, although location services will get you decent results on iPhone 1st generation/iPod touch all generations/iPad wifi.
Do you have iPhone app idea? You can make your own iPhone app with a software called AppWizard in less than 30 minutes

"high price tag"?! I guess if you already own a GPSr, cost is a consideration, but if you're just getting into geocaching and don't have a GPSr or have an older GPSr and don't want the expense of printing it SAVES you money. Your choice, minimum of $100 for a low-end GPSr or$12 for a very functional geocaching tool that you probably carry all the time and can, on the spur of the moment, search for nearby caches and just go! Front to back, solution. Search, Find, and Log in one.
