GoPro Doohickey

How to use the Orange GoPro Quick Release Lock Mount Attachment(aka Doohickey).

While it's purpose is not for dampening, it does dampen vibration as a side effect of its true purpose.

The quick release lock prevents the camera from popping out of its mount in the event of a heavy rear impact. It's rare that it happens but important to use that rubber plug/lock in high impact watersports like surfing or kayaking where a big wave or impact with water could hammer the camera from behind. Good to use that lock skiing, too, where a heavy wipeout could lead to a header in the powder.

The "doohickey" is called a locking plug, it comes with the Motorsport package and I believe the surfing package...maybe all of them. But the manual states it's purpose is to lock the attachment buckles fingers in place, helping to prevent accidental housing release from mounts. I'm not sure if it kills the vibration or "clicking" like the guy said in the video, but hey, if it does there is 2 birds with 1 stone. Just don't want everyone to think this is the solution to the clicking and have the
