This video was mainly created in response to flargmuffin92's video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ft8xvtIOdDk which has since been removed (perhaps the account has been removed as well.)
And partially in response to "The Glorious Life of a Wild Orca," of the same creator.
I can only hope that the pro-captivity videos were removed due to the false information that I have now exposed in this video.

Sources:
Birth/Death rates of the Southern Resident Community

Birth/Death rates of Captive whales*:
http://www.orcahome.de/orcadead.htm
http://theorcaproject.wordpress.com/about-2/appendix-a-captive-orca-longevity/

226 whales taken into captivity-40 still alive today= 186 deaths (156+30 stillbirths)
186 is 83% of 226.

157 whales in the SR community- 78 still alive today = 79 deaths.
79 is 50% of 157

*these birth and death rates change consistantly, especially in wild populations. Allow for very slight differences in numbers.
