How did first choice do that?!
-
Maclean Hunter in Ontario had a different scrambling method. Once a pay channel was descrambled, it looked like any other channel. First Choice was on 24 and Superchannel was on 25.
-
unless they got super channel back in 2007
-
@TServo2049 Yeah, it does sound like "The Choice is 5" from WNEW (now WNYW, since that horrible Rupert Murdoch bought it).
-
My first thought was "So THAT'S what it looked like unscrambled!"
HAHAH! Anyone else remember the days of watching the scrambled feed, while getting the audio on the radio?
-
FIRST CHOICE was far superior to SUPERCHANNEL when they were both different entities. FIRST CHOICE had a lot more t&a for the kids. LOL!

I haven't seen this since I lived in Kitchener Ontario. I liked First Chioce a little better than Superchannel. More variety. I used to keep all the program guides when I was a kid. They were good for movie/concert descriptions.
Thanks again for posting this clip.

That, and it helped that TSN and MuchMusic were created too to help the merged First Choice-Superchannel refocus it's efforts to movie presentations.
And, to be honest, the merged First Choice-Superchannel idents kinda hold up better than the First Choice solo graphics did. XD
Interesing though....when the services merged, anything that represented First Choice, name excepted, were discarded...most of the merged idents were Superchannel through and through. O.o
