I wanted to draw a giant tree, the size of a sky scraper. I also thought it would be cool if it's roots created waterfalls 20 to 30 feel high.

This is another practice drawing. It took about 12 hours to paint in Photoshop CS1. It was a challenging piece because of all of the roots. I also think I chose a poor choice of perspective because the drawing doesn't immediately convey the scale I was going for.

  • Truely amazing. Just wondering if you do any sketches before hand or if you are making it all up as you go? Also do you use a stylus pen and board or is it with a mouse?

  • Well, when I don't know what I want to draw I just go random until something comes to me. Otherwise I sketch. I use a tablet :)

  • get photoshop lol

  • Very well done! I believe the proportions you were going for in the creations of the waterfall height in comparison to the height of the "skyscraper" size of the tree was perfect. (And really nice looking!) There are infinite perspectives that one can form from ANY one situation/image/piece of writing, etc...So, from MY perspective, this is a HUGE tree that has taken so very long to grow, & within that "time" waterfalls formed surrounding it almost as if seeping from its very root structure!

  • Nice, but I like the black and white (or slightly tinted) version better.

Also, you could have added some humans or animals in front of the tree to convey a real sense of scale.

  • corel painter X is an example

  • I really want a program like that.
