does anyone know the original label/recording company for this one?

I have the 78 and it's one of the best recordings from this period. This LP verson has not been tampered with very much.

The tempo and musicianship alone makes this a standout. I was amazed with this one. Especially when they went to the rag style. I doubt many of todays studio musicians could match this- The bass player was absolutely on the money. When you realize he wasn't playing electric bass but on an old-fashioned tuba--- JUST GREAT

Fantastic version! I got to see a big stage version of Good News, very faithful to the 1927 original. Varsity Drag was the standout! I have the Hagan and Olsen versions. Wasn't Olsen the pit band in the 1927 musical? I think he was. Wow, your Sam Lanin blows the doors right off the Victrola! HOT! I love it! Thank you 4 the 20s fun!
