@dave2118 If it does work let me know. Like I said Sony never addressed the problem in their patches, but a couple of people said it fixed when they reset to factory defaults and then patched. I have not updated my firmware yet unless I can get confirmation from enough people that the process works. The patch was mainly geared towards the "flashing red" deal. Also if there isn't any popping while switching channels, it most likely is working (others were hearing pops almost immediately).

If you google this problem you will find hundreds of posts from people pissed off at their V-series Bravia. Sony is aware of the problem, and they are trying to play dumb about it. The last firmware version they came out with in August of 2009 was supposed to fix this issue, according to Sony's website...didn't work too well.

I have a KDL-52V5100 and a KDL-40V5100, and both have the same problem. This Bravia series has some serious HDMI issues. Not only does my sound cut out just like in your video, but sometimes my tv will tell me that I have no signal for every HDMI port that I have a component hooked up to. The only way for me to get my TV to see the signal is to unplug the TV and plug it back in. I have had Sony send a tech out who replaced the motherboard in both TV's...the problem returned.

if you have a psp number from best buy then get on the best buy website and open a case number with them . if you do not have a in home service plan form best buy them you will have to deal with sony . best buy may replace the tv themselves based on a customer satisfaction basis. go to the best buy site and TALK to them . there are many people that have resolved issues by getting a replacement GO TO THE BEST BUY SITE AND USE IT
They have a fix made back in December of 2009, but they have not put it up on their site. If you go to box[dot]net/sonyupdate, it has the unofficial drivers. However, Sony's update nor the unofficial update don't say anything about the HDMI sound cutting out, though they addressed other sound issues. On the AVS Forums, a guy reset to factory defaults, then updated the firmware, and currently has not experienced the cutouts. The cut outs happen on my TV too, and V series has a bunch of problems.

@silvercoke I loaded it up last night. No cutouts so far.
Thanks for the link, hopefully this fixes it.

They just want to delay these complaints until all of the warranties on this model line are expired. I just want to know at what point will Sony's solution be to provide me with a working TV...however they do that...instead of pretending to fix the problem.

@dave1096 Not a bad theory

ok so now you are talking about a totally different issue . lip synch problems . there are settings in the tv for game problems but lip synch issues are ALWAYS content specific period . Go ahead get another product and make that mistake.

@mikewm9v So again, what's the fix if you're an expert?
