  • I wasn't sure that I'd like this film, but I really did. Deborah Kerr was lovely and played Elizabeth in such a sad and poignant way. The skydiving was spectacular and the entire story was quite engaging.

  • I got this movie from the library this week and I can't wait to watch it over the weekend!

  • Burt Lancaster played this scene beautifully. A loner who lives as he pleases and emotionally self centered, who meets a lonely middle aged woman snared in a loveless marriage who is afraid to let go of the security she has come to accept in place of love. He responds to her desperation and desire and honest need. He is one of the few greats.

  • @Rebas1Okie NO SHE DIDN'T. LOL LOL.

  • DID SHE RUN AWAY WITH HIM! Jeeze now I REALLY wanna see this movie!!! =)

  • There's no other parts of the movie up?

  • For instance here: notice how he glides to her, and takes her absolutely believably in his arms in just about as protective a gesture you will ever see on the screen, and the look on him is just as true...yet all the way though the scene any of his speech is just flat out below par, disconnected from that amazing grace. The less he ever said, the better. Truly one of the most unusual actors ever on the screen.

  • I have always maintained that Lancaster, except in a few occasions was really a limited actor, and whenever he had to go up against the good ones, he usually suffered. Almost a victim of his own grace: the most expressive hands and slowest gliding movements of any actor ever. Here he is definitely out of his class. Yet in broad comedy, Devils Deciple, Elmer Gantry, and in certain heroic moments of Valdez is Coming, he is perfection. The Swimmer he works because its so physical.

  • this is my favorite scene!

  • I love Deborah Kerr since i was child. Thanks for sharing!
