Visiting from Boston, Mark Occhionero plays two songs in this clip. First, a great jazz instrumental of "Song for My Father" by Horace Silver. Then he goes on to sing "This Love of Mine." The video was shot at "Night of 101 Ukes" at East Village bar Otto's Shrunken Head in Manhattan, July 2009. The lighting stinks, but the sound is okay.
Somewhere in the last third of the video, I pan to a giant NYC-style cockroach enjoying the scene on one of the bars. Earlier in the night, I explained to Mark that Otto's is kind of like a dive bar. Friend Rush Kress corrected me, "What do you mean? It IS a dive bar." True that.
Very cool stuff...I dig it!

Oh my dear God in Heaven...that THING is almost as big as THE MEGA ROACH descended upon me last summer. Did you check the SCALE of it in proportion to the little drink umbrella?? It's almost the same SIZE!!!! Like over 3 inches!
I may never sleep again. Seriously.
