it's really amazing to think of how many years she was really at the top of her game. not only did we watch her grow up, but we grew up with her. think of all the skaters that came and went... she skated her first senior nationals against yamaguchi, harding and kerrigan (all of whom have since retired for around a decade now) and finished her last nationals against skaters who aren't even around any more (cohen, meissner, e hughes, etc)... btw, they forgot to mention 9 straight world medals :)
@fluteAHS That's one of her prettiest. (And see her 1998 Pro Am "East of Eden" for another.) I think my favorite is "Lyra Angelica"; but "Romanza" is adorable.
I'm glad they did this piece with both selection of music. This music sounds a lot more celebratory, whereas the other selection was very mournful. I think it was good to have both commemerations for the way her legendary career came to a close.
One of the greatest skaters of all time.I miss watching her compete.

@CoCoNuTsiopatHic And one wants it not to have ended that way, as much as one wanted her to have the Olympic gold.

holy crap that really made me cry. it's such a treat to watch her skate - I'm just grateful I got to see most of it growing up.
