  • Art is as necessary as the sun and fresh air.

A painting can become such an inspiration that the positive impact that can cause in your life will go with you forever.

These pieces of art will continue nourishing our world as long as there is life on earth.

  • Great compilation, but please next time include some kind of reference as well!

  • One of the best I've ever seen---" Spoliarium by Juan Luna" It's huge, painting lovers should really see this masterpiece,..once you're infront of it, all you can say is WOW!, It even feels like you're part of the painting.!!!!

  • honestly where is William holman hunt ? im pretty sure hes the best of all time and you didnt have any of his. Look up "The Scapegoat" and "The Lady of Shalott"

  • Great effort, appreciate it, though I felt it relies too much on Rembrandt, Renoir and van Gogh. Dont get me wrong these masters are my favorite too, but works of Dali, Magritte, Klimt, Gauguin, Courbet among others are missed. And where are the landscapist....Constable, Turner, Ruisdael, Lorraine? Almost nothing from Renaissance except Leonardo and nothing later than postimpressionists....good to see Modigliani, Mancini Seurat and Hopper though. Adding info on vid wld help the uninitiated

  • if you are European I guess

  • Mona Lisa... what an ugly bitch.

  • @R9X9N9 Belshazzar's Feast (1635) - National Gallery, London,Anatomy Lesson of Dr Nicolaes Tulp (1632) - Mauritshuis, Den Haag,Militia Company (1642) - Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam,PabloPicasso‑Two‑Women‑Running‑on‑the‑Beach‑The‑Race‑1922.

    739 × 587 - PABLO PICASSO CUBISM

  • Grant Wood - American gothic; Georges Seurat -Un dimanche apres-midi a l'Ile de la Grande Jatte, Leonardo da vinci-The Last Supper, Mona Lisa, Amedeo Modigliani-Woman with red hair, Antonio Mancini- Rasting, Jacob Jordaens-The King Drinks I, Rembrandt van Rijn-A Woman bathing in a Stream, .....to be continued....

  • This list is impossible to compile. It is way too subjective. It may be more aptly called, "Some of the More Popular Paintings from Western Civilization". Too many greats left out...and some mediocre ones included.

  • Nice but I like mostly modern art. The greatest art work of all time is still the Sixteenth Chapel by Michelangelo. And not just because he painted it laying on his back in the air. You have to see it to believe.

  • Isn't the man with the violin(I think) suppose to be blue?
