Field Update January 2012

Hi, it's David Robertson with Casas por Cristo again. I want to welcome you to this latest installment in our monthly update. I just want to thank you for a great 2011. Because of people like you, through your support, your prayers, coming down and building homes with us. In 2011 we were able to build over a 150 homes for families in need. Thank you for that act! That simple act allowed our pastors on our pastors board committee to come back and share the gospel of Jesus Christ with them.

You know as great as 2011 was, 2012 is shaping up to be a wonderful year. In January alone we have already build over 19 houses. And in case you missed it in 2011 we started building in San Raimundo, Guatemala. We built five houses there, and this year we have already started building. If fact if you are interested in Guatemala, you need to call us right now. We've got over 30 homes on the books already for this upcoming year. And we have already had to close off a couple of weeks.
So if you are thinking about Guatemala, please give us a call.

Now don't get me wrong, were not just building in Guatemala we are still building in Mexico, both in Juarez and in Acuna. And if you are like a lot of our teams that have this deep passionate connection with the people of Mexico, I want to let you know, it may be time for you to reconsider coming back and building in Juarez.

This last year, in 2011 the violence dropped by over 40%. You probably haven't heard that on the American news outlets, but that has happened. The atmosphere of the city is changing. I am able to drive around downtown with my windows down and feel totally safe and comfortable. So if you are thinking about Mexico and it is still in the back of your mind wondering if it is a possibility, I want to encourage you to consider coming back to Juarez. We still have over a hundred people waiting on our waiting list that just need to know that there is a little hope. That not everyone has given up on them. So invite you to come with us there.

And if you want to know what is going on with Casas por Cristo on a more regular basis, I invite you to come back each month, as we will attempt to do our best to put up a fresh monthly update.
